Tucker McLane brings a unique combination of solid engineering practices and merchandising savvy to the point-of-purchase displays he develops. In his 10 years at Bose, Tucker managed the development of scores of displays and the manufacture of nearly 100,000 interactive displays. To improve customer experiences and reduce costs, Tucker had the product design engineers add demonstration functionality to the Bose products which greatly improved sell-through and reliability of product demonstrations.
Throughout his career, Tucker has built upon his engineering background while gaining valuable insight into real-life retail behavior. By incorporating consumer research into electronics merchandising, he provides proven methods to attract customers. His designs guide customers through a clear demonstration pathway in the store without the “information overload” so common in an era of complex products and confusing choices for consumers. When Tucker designs a display, people notice. They engage with the merchandise on the showroom floor -- and they buy it.
Through his achievements in merchandising, Tucker has earned several prestigious awards, including a coveted spot in the In Store Marketing Institute (ISMI) Hall of Fame. He is a two-time recipient of the Bose Presidents Award -- the highest accolade given at Bose. He has served as an Executive Advisory Council member for the ISMI, and as a judge for the Display of the Times and Expo Merchandising awards.
Tucker earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY in 1991. He lives in Framingham, Massachusetts but travels regularly in pursuit of his passions: he is a commercial pilot and scuba diver. He also sails around the Boston Harbor Islands and will take any opportunity to captain 40’-50’ catamarans and sloops in the Caribbean with friends.
Leo Iodice has been developing demonstration products for consumer electronics throughout his career. Passionate about developing new ways to communicate the benefits of products to consumers, he’s developed a wide range of possibilities for showcasing your products utilizing technologies that range from theatrical productions to simple custom built MP3 players. Leo prides himself on creating spectacular ways to present and merchandise.
At Bose Corporation, he was a senior technical member on the team that developed the Bose retail stores. Spending a great deal of time in the stores, often working the floor for days at a time, he fine-tuned his skills at developing products that withstood the often harsh environment of retail.
In addition to working 20 years for Bose specializing in their consumer sales operations, he also owned a media production studio where he was the Chief Technology Officer.
When he’s not tinkering in the lab developing new products, you can usually find Leo on a mountain top, in a boat or flying in a sailplane.
